LOA and a Name

LOA are three little letters that represent Letter of Acceptance. This means that China approved us to adopt our sweet little girl.  Our agency believes that we could travel within 2-3 months!  Wow!  That is a whole lot faster than we expected - Praise the Lord for His favor!

And, the announcement, we all have been waiting for......A name for our sweet girl.  We have decided to name her Zoe Jan.  Zoe means, "life" and Jan means, "God is gracious".  Her life is truly a gracious gift of God to our family. We are so very blessed my her already!

We are asking for your prayers as we begin the final stages of this adoption process. Because of the speed at which the last step went, we are over whelmed with paperwork we thought we had 2 months to complete.  All our "deadlines" moved up 2 months over night! This is very rare and we believe it to be God's favor.  We are continuing to pray for God's favor and provision.  This will not happen without Him. We believe this is a calling He has placed on our lives, and where He leads, He will provide.  As we look back over the portion of the process we have completed, we can see God's fingerprints on every moment. May every one of our weaknesses point to His Strength, and may He receive all glory and honor from every breath we take.

If you have a heart for adoption and feel the Lord leading you to partner with adopting families, here is a link to a nonprofit organization that we have partnered with for a grant for our adoption.

GOD IS SO FAITHFUL!

I (Tonya) will begin by saying that my trip to China with the Young family was amazing!  I do not have words to describe all that God did in my heart during that trip.  I absolutely fell in love with China, and was so blessed to have a front row seat as God beautifully knitted a new child into an amazing family.  God makes families, and He does all things well.

When I arrived home, we received the good news that we were logged in with the Chinese Children's Welfare Agency.  But still no referral...

Well, we have received wonderful news this evening.  We have been matched with a precious little 2 year old girl. We are still working on her name, but for now we will call her our Little Sweetie Pie.  Our family is beyond excited.  We can not wait to hold her in our arms.  Please pray with us that God will begin to prepare her sweet heart for the big change ahead of her, and that all necessary paperwork will continue to move smoothly.  We pray that we will be able to bring her home in about 6 months.

God is so Good!  We feel so blessed and honored that He would choose us to be this sweet little girl's family.  Our hearts are just overflowing with praises to Him.

Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement!  We will be sure to share updated photos and information on our paperwork process as we receive it.
Blessings,
Tonya

God is rarely early, never late, but always on time!

We have been in a waiting period for quite some time.  We are still waiting for a referral, but found out yesterday we are DTC! (Dossier to China)  Yay!  In about 3-4 weeks we will be logged in with the Chinese Children's Welfare Agency.

This comes at a very exciting time for us.  We just received a grant from Bridge of Hope Adoption Ministry to help cover our next payment to our agency.  We are so thankful to Bridge of Hope, and so thankful that our all-sufficient God always sees our needs.  This grant came at a critical time as we knew our dossier was nearly ready to be sent to China and Tonya is about to be gone for the next 18 days.  This had been burdening our hearts, and God truly showed up when we were least expecting it. God is truly all-sufficient and faithful!  When He called us to this adventure, we knew it was beyond us, but we committed to be obedient to His will and walk by faith one step at a time.  We truly are never sufficient in and of ourselves, and through this process, He is teaching us that only when we are surrendered to Him will His Grace be Sufficient!

Yes, there is more exciting news. Tonya will be traveling to China tomorrow for the next 18 days to help very dear friends of ours bring home their little boy.  They are taking their 3 current children on this adventure and asked if Tonya would be willing to go and help them with their children while they are in China. She has had a heart to go and help them since they first began their process, and God in His infinite wisdom as worked it out perfectly.  We are expecting God to do great and mighty things in their family and to knit their new son flawlessly into their family.  We believe that God makes families and He does all things well.  Tonya is thrilled and honored to be on this adventure with them.

Please be in prayer for Tonya and the Young family as they travel.  Pray that God's Presence and Peace will surround them every step, that they will be safe, and ultimately that God's perfect will will be accomplished.  Pray that God is preparing the heart of their sweet son as he makes this transition to his forever family.

Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and support.
Blessings,

Waiting

Well, as most of you have guessed, we are in a waiting period.  Our I-800A and official copy of our home study has gone to immigration. After several weeks of waiting, we had our appointment Friday with Homeland Security for our biometric fingerprints.  We are so glad to have another step finished.

Following this hurdle, we will wait to be matched with our precious little one.  We have finished compiling all necessary documents this weekend for our dossier and will be mailing them to our agency Monday.  Again, it feels good to complete another step.

We recently celebrated Chinese New Year with a group of local families who have adopted from China.  During that celebration, we met a gentleman who will be traveling to China with our adoption agency in March.  This mission of doctors, social workers, and others, will be compiling a new waiting child list for our adoption agency.  Our hearts nearly leaped from our chests when we heard this.  He may have the opportunity to lay his hands and eyes on our sweet little one before we even know who it is.  I pray that when we do find out who our child is, he or she will have been memorable to this gentleman, and he will be able to share some details with us.  Please join us in this prayer.

God is so faithful.  He is providing for us each step of the way, in every way.  He has blessed us with amazing friends who's prayers and encouragement are so supporting to us.  He continues to provide financially for us to bring our little one home each step of the way. We have some amazing friends who own Kid's Kloset consignment sale who selected us as their 2013 Spring Sale Kid's Kloset Family.   This means that they provided an opportunity for those who would like to support adoption, to give financially to bringing our little one home.  We had a display table with our Calendar Fundraiser displayed, for those who wanted to purchase calendars that feature adopted children from around the world each month.  It also gave others the opportunity to pray specifically for our family and our little one and for us to speak to others about God's heart for adoption.  We are so thankful to Kid's Kloset for their support and are so blessed to have been a part of this amazing sale!

With the timeline given to us by our social worker, we are on track to bring our little one home late summer to early fall, but we submit to God and His perfect timing in all things.

Thank you for your continued prayers, support, and encouragement.
